Bollywood has been hell-bent for decades to normalise shouting at and insulting of Hindu gods by their followers. Anger towards Bhagwan (and the temple idol/vigraha) is a practice that has been a feature of many Bollywood films.
Agneepath was no different, where Mithun Chakroborty’s character screams at Bhagwan following the death of his friend Vijay. Kader Khan and Bollywood never showed a protagonist screaming in anger against Allah. Why?
Also, we didn’t miss that Mithun Chakraborty’s character is named Krishnan Iyer, a gun-wielding Tamil Brahmin who sells coconut water and promotes the most offensive stereotypes against South Indians.
